I’ve had this table for years (purchased in November of 2017) and I love it more and more the longer I have it. However, if you are looking for a coffee table that has a perfectly smooth surface, you might not like this as much since it is real wood there is some variation and unevenness which some people may not like. For me personally the variation adds character and depth so I don’t mind it. This coffee table is beautiful made with real wood, and is very sturdy. In fact it has made it through several moves (including one across country) without any issues. I have never had to tighten anything down since it’s original assembly and I have never needed to take it apart. The only downside to this product was the assembly lol. It was quite difficult to get everything lined up and put in correctly even with two people just because it is designed to have a very tight fit. Once you get it though, it will never budge again and it did come with all of it’s own hardware and assembly instructions which were simple and easy to follow. Highly highly highly recommend! (Picture is recent (March of 2022) after having had this item for nearly 4 and a half years already!)11/11/19 update: Our second table just arrived very early today. (bought one last year too). I again highly recommend this table. I have two coffee tables now, and we also ordered the end tables last year. With both a living room and den to furnish, this is money well spent. This one is even nicer than the one last year, a bit richer in color. Goes perfectly with my 1980-something oak wall unit I refuse to part with! The instructions say two people are needed to assemble, but in both cases, I did it myself alone. Solid wood planks, no MDF, no laminate, no veneers. If you need to assemble it yourself, without help, do this: Have an old quilt or two and spread it out on the floor. Remove the tools from the table top (stapled underneath), turn the table top face down on the quilt to avoid scratching. Assemble the two legs to the bottom panel first (if you have a cube or ottoman or similar object, use that to prop up the other end, which you attach the legs to the first end. After attaching the legs to one end, and hand tightening them, then you can attach the opposing legs, and no longer need the ottoman or box to hold it up. Once the bottom is assembled, turn it upside down and secure the lower half to the top half where the pre-drilled holes are and secure the bolts. Tighten all the bolts on all connections after assembly. Just gorgeous. Thank you to this company for providing wood furniture at awesome prices.Original review (first table): Love it. Bought for just over 100 dollars 2 months ago. It's a bit bigger than I expected. I was able to put together by myself. I suggest assembling on a thick old blanket or pad, to avoid damaging the planks. My dog walked across mine! Once assembled, it's solid. Handsome. It is wood, not fiber board. Surface distressed to look reclaimed. My table is rather dark. The table arrived very quickly, two days before it was projected to arrive. No complaints with that. However, the box was ripped open, some places were missing chunks out of the box. It was basically shredded. I opened the box, and it appeared to be okay. I noticed a few dings and scratches that weren't noticeable once put together. The wood was broken and splintering underneath the second board (the shelf). Since it's not noticeable, I kept the table. Wish it wasn't damaged for the amount of money paid. The table is sturdy! When assembling the legs, the metal legs actually got in the way of the hardware so I had to angle the leg to hand tighten the hardware then use my drill to finish. Other than that, is wasn't too bad. Took me about 30 minutes to assemble. As describedlove it
